Children's Dance Classes (Saturdays)
All of our main classes include stage (tap, modern) and majorettes, giving our dancers all-round training with a mix of styles. Pupils have the opportunity of taking BATD exams when they reach the required level. Fees for main classes are paid weekly with discounts given for pupils taking more than one class.
Tiny Tots
For children age 2½ to 4½, the Tiny Tot class have great fun learning their first tap steps, basic ballet and modern stage. We then introduce twirling and marching using lightweight majorette batons.
Tap Dancing & Modern Stage
The tap sections involve co-ordination, rhythm and making impressive sounds as the dancers build up their footwork technique.
Modern dance incorporates ballet and jazz steps including kicks, turns and leaps. Warm-up and stretch exercises help our dancers with flexibility and they learn to control movements as their strength builds.
Majorettes
Pupils learn military march and dance twirl routines, from basic twirling to high flying batons. Majorette classes encourage discipline and practice, while the groups still have fun working together.
Ballet
New ballet classes from Pre-Primary to Grade 1 are now available for pupils age 5 and over. There are two separate classes for different age groups where pupils will learn all the basic techniques and work up to the higher levels as they progress through the grades. Ballet is offered in addition to the main classes and we hope to encourage many of our existing and new dancers to take the extra lessons.
Tiny Tots will continue to learn basic steps and we have also introduced ballet grade work in the main Starlite class.
Freestyle & Cheer
Purely for fun and for showtime only, Saturday classes now include freestyle and/or cheer sections. No exam work involved.
Beginners & Improvers
Classes are suitable for dancers of all ages and levels. Beginners are most welcome to come and join us at any of our classes. We also encourage dancers who have some dance lessons and want to take up classes again.
