About the Dance School
The Linzi Doherty School of Dancing started out in 1996 when we took over existing classes. Kate Doherty has been successfully managing the dancing school since Linzi moved to Australia a few years later. Linzi regularly keeps in touch and is proud of our dancers' continuing achievements.
The dance school is covered by Public Liability Insurance and our teachers hold full enhanced disclosure certificates.
Our Teachers
Qualified by the British Association of Teachers of Dancing, the teachers have Associate and Membership certificates including Stage, Majorette, Cheerleading (Dance Cheer Poms) and Freestyle as well as YMCA Fitness to Music.
Having recently taken teacher's classes in ballet, we are now also able to offer ballet classes to our pupils in addition to the existing timetable.
Our combined experience and dedication makes the dance school what it is though. While we aim for the highest standards, we also make the classes fun and inspiring for the pupils, encouraging them to grow in confidence and ability.

Community
We are proud to have been part of the local community in Calderwood and in the wider area in East Kilbride, Glasgow, Lanarkshire and beyond. The dancing school has supported various charities including Greenburn School, Children's Hospice Association Scotland and the Simon Community charity for homeless people. Proceeds from our dancing shows regularly go to the Kilbryde Hospice Appeal.
Please get in touch if you're looking for young performers for charity events, community displays or stage/TV productions.
