Linzi Doherty School of Dancing
We provide dancing classes for children and adults of all ages and abilities. Our dancers are trained by qualified friendly teachers who make the classes fun and rewarding. At the same time we encourage fitness flexibility and co-ordination, achieving excellent standards.
From age 2½, our young dancers learn tap, basic ballet steps, modern stage and majorettes. As they progress to school age, pupils are given the opportunity to take exams once they reach the required standard. We believe that teaching a mix of core dance styles helps prepare our dancers for the future, giving them confidence in their ability in and out of class.
Older children and teenagers who are beginners, or who have previously given up, are very welcome to come along to our classes. Dancing is a great way to keep fit, make new friends and all pupils get the chance to perform in our fabulous shows.
Our new ballet classes proved to be a great success and we'll be continuing to offer beginners ballet classes to all of our pupils from Infant level up to teenagers. We also include Starlite ballet in the main classes for younger pupils and teach basic steps for Tiny Tots.
Cheer dance poms and freestyle/hiphop sections are now included in some of the main classes for show work only (no exams). High energy dances combine a mix of street, cheer and pop styles.
Learning popular songs and routines from stage and screen, our musical theatre kids love to perform. We take part in competitions, festivals and shows and everyone gets a chance to shine.
Our senior classes give students the opportunity to progress to advanced levels and dance teacher training. Previous dance experience is required, but don't worry if you're a bit rusty or haven't danced for a while, we can help you catch up.
Stay fit and have fun at our adult classes. All levels are taught, from beginners right up to Associate tap and new dancers are always welcome. Our new adult modern class aims to bring something new to those who want to keep their fitness levels up by combining exercise and dance.
